Review Culture was invited to the launch of Grimsby's sparkling new pantomime for 2024 as the cast were presented to an excited audience. We were there to catch some photos as the cast of Dick Whittington and the Pirates From The Caribbean were unveiled to the waiting journalists, photographers and delighted members of the public who were on hand. The panto will run from Saturday 7 - Sunday 29 December 2024.
Dick Whittington, arrives in London seeking fame and fortune when disaster strikes. The streets aren’t paved with gold! Broke and alone, he teams up with a lost streetwise cat. Together they embark on an epic adventure that takes them deep into the smelly
sewers of London, a fight with the evil Queen Rat and her Racketeers, and finally a search for gold and glory that ends with plundering pirates and cutlasses clashing as he meets with The Pirates FROM (not "of")the Caribbean.
The cast is led by the very popular, returning star Martin Daniels as Idle Jack and also from last year's panto cast, Sue Hodge as Cook Sherrie Trifle. Emmerdale and Coronation Street Star Gemma Oaten will be appearing as Fairy Bow Bells. Previous villain Rosanne Priest will be playing Queen Rat, Charlotte McLachlan is Alice Fitzwarren, Chris Clarkson is this year's dame, Lady Fitzwarren and Samuel Knight is Dick Whittington.
