Thank you to the numerous entrants who wrote and filmed original monologues for our competition - CONNECTED 2020. It was fantastic watching work created in the midst of a public health crisis as people managed to tap into their creativity and produce some work of an incredibly high calibre. The performances were great and the work ranged from the contemplative through to absurdist. The variety was exceptional and we were more than happy to take on the difficult task of narrowing the work down to the final three entries.
We now present the work of each creative team shortlisted for the prize. The winner will be announced on Friday 17th April, the day we SHOULD have been premiering our new production of Henry Naylor's one-woman drama, "Angel". Instead, we will stick to our mission of championing new writing and announce the overall winner at noon.
We decided that each of our shortlisted entrants deserved exposure and so we present the work of each for you here. The entries are listed alphabetically by surname.
Forever in Her Shadow by Hayley Konadu
Laws of Refraction by Eloïse Poulton
