Update on our next project:
We are entering the Bristol 48 hour Puppet Film Challenge on September 15 - 17th 2023. Work on this project is unpaid. We are making a three and a half minute short film which responds to prompts that will be given out on the evening of Friday 15th of September and all filming will take place on Saturday 17th at a venue in Grimsby.
We are currently looking to recruit at least five puppeteers to join us and in order to ensure that people are familiar with the puppets we have chosen to use, We are looking to hold five two-hour rehearsal sessions on Tuesday evenings in Cleethorpes between now and the actual filming day.
Tuesdays 8:00 - 10:00pm
August 15th, 22nd,29th,
September 5th, 12th.
(All at the Dance Studio on Grant Street Cleethorpes)
Filming will take place on Saturday 16th September 9am - 5pm
(At the West Marsh Community Centre, Grimsby)
If you are unavailable for one or two of the earlier dates, that would not disqualify you from taking part but you must be available for the three September dates.
We need reliable performers who will know what they are required to do on the day of filming as time will be tighter than you think because we will need to build and strike sets as quickly as possible but that will still take time.
Performers will need to wear all black for filming, with no logos or coloured flashes to break up the black as the eye will immediately be drawn to it. We will seek to supply black cotton gloves for each performer.
An outline has been written for the film so that we do not go into the weekend of the challenge "blank" and we can hopefully be as efficient as possible on the day. AD Andy Evans will be agonising over the prompts all Friday night once they release the details.
We really hope we can produce a short film to be proud of. It is our first time producing something like this and to make a film so short, is a challenge above and beyond anything else within the official competition.
We really hope that you are able to join us in working on the "mini-masterpiece"! Please let us know if your want to be included and if any of the dates don't work for you.
